Rainbow LED Cube Case

Rainbow Cube Seeedstudio Case

Seeedstudio’s sent me an Rainbow LED Cube case a few weeks back to see if I could design a laser cut enclosure for their cool product. Well after the holidays passed I had a few hours of spare time to try to see what I could come up with.

Rainbow Cube Kit Case

I normally stack “layers” of plexiglass on top of each other to create a case for electronics. (Seen here and here) However, something like the Rainbow Cube is quite big and would not look good / be economically feasible to tackle with such approach. I changed methods and came up with a T – slotted press fit type of mechanism. I am sure its been done before so not claiming that I invented this type of fitting or anything 🙂 You can see the whole flickr set here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rileyporter/sets/72157625883928380/

  • What a terrific case; it turns the Rainbow cube into a work of art. Is there any possibility of commissioning this enclosure or the laser cut parts for my Seeedstudio cube and Rainbowduino?
